How it all began
NitzBlitz was created by an Australian Mum who was tired of the endless cycle of chemical treatments, nit combs, and sleepless nights every time head lice swept through the school. She believed there had to be a better way — one that was gentle on kids, kind to the environment, and actually worked.
After years of research and development using Australian botanical ingredients, the NitzBlitz scented scrunchie was born. The formulation inside each scrunchie uses natural plant-based scents that head lice find repellent — so your child's hair stays protected all day, just by wearing their scrunchie.

How to use your Nitz Blitz Scented Scrunchie
Each NitzBlitz scrunchie contains a small sachet inside the fabric that holds our Australian Botanical Formulation. Here's how to activate and get the most from your scrunchie.
Locate the sachet
Feel inside the scrunchie fabric for the small sachet. It sits neatly inside the tube of the scrunchie and is not visible from the outside.
Break the sachet
Push the fabric from both ends onto the sachet then hold the scrunchie at each end of the sachet and pull and tear apart the sachet through the fabric. You'll feel it break and give way — this releases the botanical formulation now put your hands in the scrunchie and roll the scrunchie this releases the formulation further and activates the scent.
Wear it daily
Place the scrunchie in your child's hair each morning before school. The natural scent works throughout the day to repel head lice. For best results, wear it every day during school term.
Refresh as needed
The scent typically lasts several weeks with daily wear. When the scent fades, it's time for a fresh scrunchie. Each pack contains one scrunchie with its sachet inside ready to activate.
Helpful hints
- For maximum protection, make sure the scrunchie is worn close to the scalp — a ponytail or bun works best.
- Don't wash the scrunchie — this will wash away the botanical formulation and reduce effectiveness.
- If your child has long hair, consider using two scrunchies — one at the base and one mid-length.
- Keep spare scrunchies on hand so you always have a fresh one ready when the scent fades.
- NitzBlitz works best as a preventative measure. If an active infestation is present, treat it first before switching to NitzBlitz for ongoing protection.
